American Canyon High School provides a 21st century learning environment centered on our core values of Relationships, Relevance and Achievement.  We offer instructional programs that support these core values.

Students work in a one-to-one laptop computing environment that centers on project based learning as the framework for integrated and collaborative learning for all students.  Our staff places a high value on fostering positive student relationships that personalize the learning environment for individual students and promotes success for all.

American Canyon High School is a leader in innovative instructional practice and 21st century teaching and learning.  The opportunity to serve our students, parents, and community is truly a privilege.  As our school continues to develop we will always put students first and place an emphasis on learning by doing.

ABOUT

Physical Design

The physical design of American Canyon High School was created to have many purposes. Architectures designed this school to have multiple structures to increase the safety and prevent damages from natural disaster, such as earthquakes. This school is not only designed for safety measures and damage prevention, but it also has little communities throughout the campus, seen throughout each building. The school is also designed to be environmentally friendly. We have solar panels on certain areas on buildings and different methods of water conservation, including waterless urinals and hand dryers.

Educational Design

American Canyon High School is a project-based learning (PBL) school. We integrate technology, with a variety of devices and programs, into our students’ learning environment. We also incorporate projects and assignments that are relative to real-world situations. This educational design gives students a sense of purpose in their work and provides them with an opportunity to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.

Instructional Design

The instructional design of this school is based on project-based learning (PBL) and technology. We utilize an online academic assignment and grading system on a website called Echo, a part of the NewTech Network. At ACHS, our technology include laptops, iPads, desktop computers, Chromebooks, and other various forms of devices. For our classes, we use Google Drive, create websites, make animations, and use other technological programs. With the use of technology, students are able to broaden their horizons and explore new educational tools that will benefit them in the future.
